Every day is an opportunity to make something new. Today my family made a foundry for melting metal! Why you ask? Simple: because all of the pieces were there at the store waiting to be brought together. Oh, and melting metal is going to be sooo cool. Or really hot.

I finished The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury (1942) and the one word that came to mind afterwards was "prescient".

Arghhh! I always have Instructables on the brain, but the X-Carve is actually made by @Inventables. Classic blunder.

Kristin finished the @instructables X-Carve assembly and did a test run.

I accidentally listened to AM radio today. Does that count as doing something retro? Still though, made me think about amplitude modulation and the formation of waves. I feel a good project in there somewhere.

My wonderful #maker wife just started assembling her @Inventables X-Carve CNC. Lots of great projects to come!

It is a beautiful night for some stargazing. I went out with my kids and we were able to pick out a half dozen constellations. Learning the names of the stars is fun!

Prop making is truly intriguing. Just think about the artistry and technology involved in most shows and movies. Impressive combination of STEAM skills to make a story come to life.

Snowy and sick - a perfect combination for board games. We played a game of Dungeons earlier and are now ready for Catan.
