Tonight, entire families were wiped out in Israel’s bombardment of Mashghara in the Bekaa. Among the dead: Samir Rizk. Hamza Rizk & his two children. Hassan Mansour, his wife, & their two daughters. Killed inside their homes, late at night, as Israeli warplanes unleashed wave after wave of heavy strikes on the town. The footage from the scene is hellish. Homes burning. Entire buildings torn open. Families buried beneath the rubble in their sleep.

Israel killed 9 paramedics in roughly 72 hours. Let that sink in. These are some of their faces. According to Lebanon’s latest health sector figures, now updated after the killing of additional paramedics in the last 48 hours: • 125 healthcare workers killed • 273 wounded • 149 attacks on the healthcare sector • 142 ambulances targeted • 32 medical centres destroyed • 16 hospitals forced out of service • 221 ambulance crews attacked Lebanon’s emergency sector is not collapsing accidentally. It is being systematically dismantled. Israel is committing war crimes against Lebanon’s medical services.

Among those killed tonight were Ali al-Anqouni & his wife. An elderly couple. Tell us again how these two were a “military target.” This is what Israel keeps calling “precision strikes.”

Ko Tinmaung, a Toronto-based Rohingya activist, has been released after more than 96 hours in Israeli detention following Israel’s hijacking of the Global Sumud Flotilla and the abduction of its civilian participants. His testimony is horrifying. He says he was beaten in a dark room by more than five people, kicked, punched, tasered in multiple places, and handcuffed so tightly that the restraints cut into his wrists and restricted blood flow. He says he still needs treatment for concussion-like injuries. He also says he witnessed other detainees with broken ribs, head wounds, blood from their ears, eye injuries, broken noses and broken teeth. Most gravely, he alleges sexual assaults, including people being tasered on their genitals. Tinmaung’s testimony also exposes the racial dimension of Israeli violence. He says he was mocked as “Ahmed”, assaulted further, laughed at because of his skin colour, and treated as if his passport had no value because he was brown. This was a civilian-led humanitarian mission carrying food, aid and basic supplies to Gaza. So where is Canada? Where are the human rights organisations? @RabbiRabbz @MarkJCarney Your rhetorical question suggests Palestinian resistance against oppression and a peace process that supports apartheid, rather than Israeli discriminatory law is to blame. People who are treated as humans do not need to retaliate. Racism breeds hatred and violence.

Today, I spoke with the President Herzog of Israel. I reiterated that the appalling treatment of civilians aboard the Gaza-bound flotilla was unacceptable, and that respect for human dignity must be upheld everywhere, at all times. I underlined the imperative of de-escalation in the Middle East, and the importance of a genuine resumption of dialogue among all parties. Progress toward peace and stability in the region must remain the clear, shared objective.

Spoke this morning with Israeli Foreign Minister @gidonsaar to raise Canada’s serious concern with Israel’s mistreatment of Canadian participants in the flotilla. I raised that denying Canadian citizens access to consular services while they were detained violates the Vienna Convention and must never happen again. Canada is providing Israeli authorities with evidence of this mistreatment. We have asked for and expect an independent investigation and those responsible to be held to account. We also discussed the deplorable rise of antisemitism in Canada and the steps that the Government of Canada is taking to protect Canada’s Jewish community from hate and violence.

Is it true that 50-85% of Israelis support this kind of behavior?

The Armenians of Jerusalem get harassed on a daily basis by Jewish extremists. Our churches desecrated, our priests and civilians alike spat on, insulted, called Goys (gentiles). Yesterday I posted this video documenting an ultra-Orthodox Jewish man defecating in public in the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem. The footage was not blurred, and while partial nudity was visible due to the nature of the act itself, the purpose of the post was clearly documentary and journalistic, not sexual, exploitative, or intended to shock gratuitously. The post got 350K views within an hour, with thousands of likes and retweets. X suspended my account and offered reinstatement only on condition that I delete the footage.

This elderly Lebanese woman left her home to buy food. She returned to find her neighborhood almost completely destroyed by Israel.
