@thenarrator Perps platforms have world-class execution but weak probability modeling. Prediction markets have strong pricing but weak execution. Perps will ultimately win this battle, because execution is harder to build than pricing, and also FAR harder to catch up on

kalshi and polymarket getting into perps is interesting (i believe most of us saw this coming) and to be fair, i don't think their plan is to own the perps market as it feels more like a retention play keep traders on your platform, give them more products, capture more revenue per user instead of losing them to hyperliquid or dydx every time they want price exposure but that's maybe exactly the problem. if perps are a side feature for them, they're competing against platforms where perps are the entire identity: hyperliquid, drift, dydx where teams have spent years on matching engines, liquidation systems, and deep liquidity the interesting question is whether the same logic works in reverse when hyperliquid adds prediction markets through HIP-4, is that also just a retention feature or does it actually threaten polymarket and kalshi's core? would love to hear from traders and builders here

@MickBransfield This is a classic problem with MMing in prediction markets right now. It’s not just that liquidity is thin, it’s that MMs are quoting tail probabilities without real depth behind them. When each leg is priced independently, the combos become mispriced, resulting in this

GM Question How many of you wish you could have more capital trading on Polymarket or prediction markets in general? We have so many smart, intelligent people in our ranks Who’s eager to pop off with a bigger balance?

I like the idea of this, but low liquidity doesn’t necessarily mean the underlying probability is more volatile/indicated high volatility. It often means the price is more sensitive to flow which in turn can make markets more volatile. Essentially, microstructure affects the underlying as much if not more as actual pricing changes in the event itself

Prediction markets with low liquidity are by no means a failure. If liquidity remains thin despite significant interest, it indicates high volatility in the underlying probability of the event. The signals we derive from these markets extend far beyond mere price or probability.

A lot of people want to get involved with prediction markets. Here's another way that will change the game: The first thing people do is sign up. Then they start to invest capital. Then they invest time, effort, and resources. People often ask me, "Bags I want to invest more time and more capital, but I haven't been in the market that long and it will take me time to build this." This is true. And at @FundingPredicts we're going to make that a lot easier. Let's give everyone a chance to predict!
