🎉 MIB at 80 - March 1946 As we continue our month‑by‑month look back at the world MIB was born into, March brings another glimpse into post‑war motoring life. 📅 March 1946 Buying a new car in Britain required a government permit, making ownership rare and keeping most drivers behind the wheel of ageing pre‑war vehicles. With so few new cars on the road, insurers were primarily covering older models, many carrying higher mechanical and accident risks. Follow along each month as we uncover more moments from 1946 throughout MIB’s 80th anniversary year.

Got a letter about your insurance status but you’ve sold the vehicle? You’ll only hear from us if the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) still lists you as the registered keeper. If you’ve sold or part-exchanged it, contact DVLA (0300 790 6802) and check the V5C has been updated. Until DVLA updates their records, you remain responsible. #KnowTheRules #DriveInsured

Today our Law Enforcement Liaison team were out on the wet and windy Scottish roads, ensuring that all vehicles are being driven with adequate insurance, helping to keep our roads safer for everyone 🌧️💨 During the operation with @PoliceScotland, this vehicle was seized after the driver’s insurance policy was cancelled when they failed to provide the documents requested by their insurer. It’s an easy mistake to make... but it leaves you uninsured the moment that policy is voided. Please take a moment to check that your insurance is active and valid before you drive. The MIB Police Helpline helps the police quickly identify whether a vehicle is insured. If there’s any doubt, we’ll work with insurers to check the information a driver has provided. If they are found to be uninsured, their vehicle will be seized and potentially crushed.
