My son would have turned 22 today. The loss of my first child, my only son is painful. I can still hear the surreal alarm that sounded at 6:30pm, “Code Blue Room 268” and I still remember the stillness after he took his last breath at 10:42pm. RIP Joe Jr 1999-2019 💔 #Forever19

I ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff to honor the U.S. service members killed in yesterday’s horrific attack in Kabul. U.S. Marine David Lee Espinoza, a Laredo native, was one of the 13 service members killed. He was 20 years old. These heroes should never be forgotten.
