I have been thinking a lot about Putin's acceleration of anti-gay and anti-trans purges following the war in Ukraine. They banned all sex changes in 2022, broke up the largest queer advocacy orgs in 2023, then declared all LGBTQ people terrorists in 2024.

@edmontonjournal Her phrasing just meant that there are simply more LGBTQ people there demographically speaking, as in it’s a gay vacation hotspot. Those who are irritated by her referencing a fact, or who would use this to bash LGBTQ people, are bigoted.
