@gnesara @mrmoneymustache I agree too! This home is basically a duplex though with the basement apartment. So that makes it different than a single family home. Hard to find a house with a home within a home! Basically it’s like inception;)

@mrmoneymustache Personally, I believe a larger house is unnecessary for my family of 2 adults and 2 kids. I prefer a 3 bed, 2 bath, 1500 sqft home to save on interest, property tax, utility other expenses. It seems that in the US, larger houses have normalized, even they aren't always necessary

A separate potentially rentable lower level presents some pretty good House Hacking options, with apartment rents in the area at $1500-$2000/month. @mrmoneymustache There is no Metro Tax in this neighborhood. Taxes are about $2500/year. No HOA.

@mrmoneymustache Thanks @mrmoneymustache! The home is in the foothills with easy bike access to a 20 mile bike loop that gets you anywhere you need to go in Loveland. It is only a few miles south of Fort Collins and a half hour east of Rocky Mountain National Park!

@mrmoneymustache Loveland has a unique water and energy system. Water from Granby is diverted to Loveland. The water, energy, and gas bill comes through the city of Loveland and not a big energy company like Xcel. This house has 3589sq ft and houses 7 ppl with a monthly bill of about $250.
