I was talking with an old contact of mine from my previous life as an application developer who is now starting up a new company aimed at situating itself squarely in the CI/CD pipeline of corporations. I asked him what he was doing for security, "We'll worry about that later.."

Like, I know he was tired and he just finished saying hi to some other con-goers, so I didn’t want to be a bother. But he insisted on taking time to meet my wife and I, ask our names, and let me tell him all my favorite talks he’s done. I owe him a bourbon.

I’m always cautious when meeting big names in the infosec community because a lot of times, it can be “disappointing”. But this year I saw @deviantollam walking out of a casino, clearly fresh from the con so I had to say “Hi”. And he was absolutely awesome!

@C0rb1nDallas Count me in! Let me know the details and I’ll try to at least make an appearance. Or, I’ll have beers on me, let’s meet up on the con floor and have a brewski!

@_peggyli Honestly, it happens to all of us at least once, no matter how long you’ve been doing it. I do Triathlon’s and I have numerous stories about falling while running or wiping out on the bike. What matters is that you get back up and don’t let it keep you down.

Mentally, I’m still a bit shaken and oscillating between disappointment (“I had just started my run and had goals for my track workout on the first sub-70 degree day in weeks!”) and guilt (“people get killed while running, stop feeling bad about a missed workout!”)

Took a bad spill while running and ended up with lots of scrapes and rashes. I’m okay – nothing a box of Band-Aids and a few days won’t fix.

Words cannot convey how much I despise Windows' automatic update feature. Even though it's setup not to, I have to constantly deal with my computer (which constantly has unsaved work) updating + restarting when I come back the next day. Guess Edge really needed that update huh
