🔬Urine sediment with waxy cast under 100X and 400X in a pt with AKI needing RRT. PS : Waxy casts can also be seen in AKI and not just in CKD as traditionally described in the text books 📚 Presence of waxy casts may point to AKI severity @drlammb @SNicolini01

@InHouseDoc @VelezNephHepato @drlammb @RamanandAkanksh Traditionally we have been taught waxy casts are seen in CKD. The point I am trying to make is they can be seen in ATI too and implies severity of tubular injury.
