Ramadan was never meant to be a food festival. The Sahabah (RA) broke their fast with a few dates and water. Then they prayed. Their meals were simple: Bread. Tharīd. Milk. Barley. Olive oil. Vinegar. No fried platters. No dessert tables. No sugar drinks. No multi-course spreads. They ate to strengthen worship. They ate to strive in the path of Allah. They did not eat to entertain their tongues. Today we fast all day… then overload the body at ifṭār — and wonder why Taraweeh feels heavy. The Sahabah were strong because they were disciplined. Strong in body. Clear in mind. Focused in heart. Ramadan is a month of restraint, not indulgence. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wore simple leather sandals. • Made from tanned animal hides • Two leather straps • No padding, plastic, or synthetic layers But today, people have left the Sunnah… and chosen toxic plastic, synthetic materials, and chemical-laden footwear. Many modern foam and plastic shoes contain phthalates (up to 46%) – chemicals that disrupt hormones and silently harm the body. The results we are seeing: • Low testosterone • Infertility • Delayed development • Metabolic disorders • Skin inflammation Your skin is not a wall. It is a membrane. The longer the contact, the deeper the exposure. If you can smell it, your body is already absorbing it. The solution is to return to the Sunnah in every aspect of our lives. Choose natural leather footwear from camel, goat, sheep, or cow hide. Let your children wear this too. Protect your health. Reject harmful trends and toxic fashion. Return to what is pure. Return to the Sunnah.
