Japanese encephalitis (JE) virus infection has been identified in a Lake Cargelligo resident, the first NSW case of JE this mosquito season.

The Data Innovation Award goes to the AusVaxSafety Team at the National Centre for Immunisation Research @NCIRS for their work which enabled nationally consistent vaccine safety surveillance to be delivered in near-real time from the first day of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.









Such a thrill to be at @clara_chow's first presentation as immediate past president of @thecsanz at the #CSANZ2022 #WIC dinner. Her amazing journey started at an HIV conference when many Asian countries claimed HIV did not exist, and seeing the impact of science communication.



Birds give up the complexity of song for volume in noisy places - so they sing louder but less interesting (to both humans & mates) songs in cities. When traffic noise in San Francisco fell due to COVID, birds began to sing more complex, quieter songs like they did 50 years ago!
