Feeling anxious before your big performance? Interpret your nervousness and anxiousness as excitement. Simple right? Think that this is your body telling yourself to get ready to do your best. In return, you’ll see that you perform better and get more energy from your body.

Do your worries keep you up at night? Use an old-fashioned pen and paper (not your computer or phone), and jot down upsetting, stressful or nagging thoughts. Tell your brain these thoughts are now stored somewhere safe and you will deal with them in the morning.

Why does finding a new location better in helping you focus on your work or study? when your focus starts to decline, try moving to a new room, perhaps a coffee shop. That new location is surprising to your brain, releasing dopamine and help you focus on what you are doing.

Set your brain clock to help get a goodnight’s rest. Our brain clock determines when we fall asleep or when we wake up. When enough hours pass, you’ll feel tired at the right time at night. Most of us work from home or in an office, missing out on those moments of sunlight.

Did you know that depression can also be caused by an overactive immune system? A 2021 study uncovered that when the immune system incorrectly attacks parts of the brain involved in mood, the symptoms of depression can manifest.

#TuesdayTip comes from my upcoming book, The Age-Proof Brain! Here is something to think about. Whether it’s too low or too high, blood pressure is a risk factor for brain dysfunction. Studies show that even high blood pressure starting in our 30s can prematurely age the brain.
