I’m from Pakhtunkhwa, how can I accept the Durand Line when I share everything with Afghans (ethnicity, language, culture, history, even mannerisms) but nothing with Punjab?

idk who needs to hear this but focus on yourself. not everything is worth fighting for and leaves you fighting to keep your sanity instead. don’t drain yourself worrying about those who could care less about how you feel.

@faizakkhan Its basically a loan but gained from market forces and not from some country or IFI which means little to nil political strings attached. It indicates trust in credit score of the country in a purely competitive financial market.

Chachu was so hated by Patwaris too. Especially when he didn’t show up at the airport on Nawaz-Maryam return. How he has turned it all around is nothing short of a masterclass. His style of governance (especially his willingness to “muk muka”) was ridiculed by demagogues like Imran Khan and idealist leftists. He has proven them all wrong and shown that flexibility is the key to strength.

@ToruUmar @samacoree The state failing in provision of basic utility services to its populace despite 78 years just because there's some war in vicinity while the countries actually involved in war are not having such problems reflects not limitation of resources but failed policy and planning

La Fed, I’m responding to you because you came up with a debatable argument rather than abuses.. so, to begin with, you are confusing responsibility with capability.. no one said that the gov isn’t responsible.. the point is.. is it capable in terms of resources at hand? Your KSA comparison is totally flawed… Saudi has massive oil reserves.. a small population.. and HUGE per capita revenue. Pakistan has a large population.. limited energy production.. circular debt.. and a very heavy reliance on imports. Just ask yourself.. had you been the gov.. and you had the resources.. why will you intentionally deny it to the citizens and make them angry and turn against yourself? And if you think it’s incompetence.. then.. it is not. I am not a fan of the present gov.. but I can’t jump the bandwagon and blame them for something I know is NOT their fault.. thank you :)

for a country that is so beautiful its rulers have absolutely ruined it to dust. we are being denied basic necessities; electricity, gas, internet, water. and yet silently we will accept these conditions. no revolts, no strikes. a shameless nation.

@ToruUmar @samacoree Ur whole argument is deeply flawed. u should first fully understand what state is, why it is created, and why it is run through a Govt. Example of KSA was a metaphor not a comparison. u're telling textbook definition of a how a Govt should be & claiming that's how Govt of Pak is

@ToruUmar @samacoree And just to correct some of ur facts: Countries with large populace are also top economies as well, Pak is an exception in the list. Circular debt was given birth by Power Division. Pakistan currently has excess capacity of energy production. Who is to blame for high imports?

@ToruUmar @samacoree The provision of utility/basic services is "obligatory" for the definition of a Govt. And when sheer incompetence starts staining the facade, you don't blame the sky for raining or the ground beneath you just not having enough resources. State can't be an ordinary helpless entity

Beautiful doesn’t mean affluent or resourceful. No gov on earth would intentionally deny such services to its citizens and face public outrage. Our resources are limited.. and none of the necessities you mentioned are completely denied. Gov generate revenue by providing these services.. they aren’t free.. you pay for them.. but they can’t offer what they don’t have. We don’t have unlimited electricity or gas.

@ToruUmar @samacoree At any point in time, resources are always going to be limited in one aspect or another. Putting up chant of limiting resources/ designs of nature is in itself an admission of failure. Does KSA sell same rhetoric to its populace about wheat or other essential grains/foods?

@teepusahab Masses of Pakistan/ worker class were already under immense economic strain since many years. A full-blown war scenario would erase the economy and subsequently the power structure itself. Current global peace making got more to do with building legitimacy within own borders.

Striving for global peace got more to do with reinventing local legitimacy which appears to be slipping away quite fast. The economic strains can cause collapse of the structure. Even a minute ignition can rapidly spread into chaos. The society is fast alienating from elites.

@AzharAbbas3

PEMRA has issued a show-cause notice to Geo News for airing content related to the legendary subcontinent singer Asha Bhosle. It has always been customary to revisit and celebrate the work of iconic artists when reporting on them. In fact, for an artist of Asha Bhosle’s stature, we should have shared even more of her timeless and memorable songs than we did. Yet, Pakistan’s electronic media regulator, Pemra, has chosen to restrict this. Art, like knowledge, is a shared heritage of humanity and it should not be confined by borders. Asha Bhosle herself admired Pakistan’s legendary singer Noor Jahan, whom she fondly called her “elder sister.” She collaborated with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and brought to life the poetry of great Urdu poets like Nasir Kazmi. In times of war and conflict, art and artists should not become casualties. Intellectuals, musicians, and creators are often the very voices that stand against hatred and division, and the ones who bring people closer together.
