If you are a government or city working on #drone and #AAM projects, the opinion of the locals in the affected areas cannot be overlooked. A Social Acceptance Study can give you the final insights for your project to be successful. DroneTalks obtained the first ever #study of this kind on HAPS, in Fuerteventura, for the Canarias Stratoport for HAPS & UAS project, led by @fuerteventurapt in collaboration with sister company @murzilliconsult. We surveyed over 750 locals to find out the level of awareness of drones and how they would feel if they saw these aircrafts flying above their heads. The study combined online questions and on-site video interviews, throwing some revealing facts: - 500+ valued emergency and rescue services - 450+ saw benefits on science services (weather, oceans, climate) - 400+ were happy with job creation thanks to the project - 400+ highlighted fire detection and nature surveillance This short video features one of the many street interviews conducted, reflecting local perspectives on the presence of drones on the island. ResilienX is asking a hard question the drone industry still hasn’t answered: If BVLOS drone operations work, why don't they scale? In our latest blog, we show how ResilienX is rethinking drone ecosystems, moving from pilot led programmes to shared, taskable drone networks designed for city scale and regional reach. Based on a recent discussion with Co-founder and CEO Andrew Carter, the article looks at utilisation, cost, aviation complexity, and why cities are emerging as the real test for scalable uncrewed aviation. “What we actually needed to do was remove the complexity of aviation from people that need to drive value from drones,” said Andrew Carter. Without a data-driven understanding of public perception, even the most advanced #AAM or #UAS projects risk stalled implementation. As a core pillar of the Canarias Stratoport for HAPS & UAS project, led by @fuerteventurapt, our team at DroneTalks, in strategic partnership with our sister company @murzilliconsult, executed the world’s first Social Acceptance Study for HAPS (High Altitude Platform Stations). Through 750+ deep-dive surveys and on-the-ground interviews, we uncovered the critical insights needed to move the project forward: - 85.8% acceptance representing a massive mandate for drones operating on the island. - 37.9% awareness identifying the "knowledge gap" that requires targeted public education. - Localized context providing real-world feedback from residents on how they perceive new technology in their skies. We help governments identify the specific use cases, from medical logistics to environmental monitoring, that resonate most with their constituents, ensuring long-term project viability. Don’t hesitate to contact us, we can help with your own social acceptance study: dronetalks.online/get-involved/

Are you a government or local council looking to regulate #drone operations in your country, city or town? We can help you collect feedback from your locals. The Canarias Stratoport for HAPS & UAS project in Fuerteventura, led by @fuerteventurapt in collaboration with our sister company @murzilliconsult, trusted us to conduct the first Social Acceptance Study for #HAPS in the world, so we surveyed over 750 people and gathered both online and on-site feedback from the population of the island. The lack of knowledge from the people about drone operations is one of the key elements the industry is working on. Generating trust, especially concerning #safety, and spreading information about the benefits of #UAVs is extremely important. Our survey reveals that 82,7% of the respondents are willing to learn more about how these #aircraft operate, and the most effective information flows chosen by the interviewees are: - Social media (500+) - News Articles (300+) - Town meetings (200+) - Leaflets or flyers (150+) At DroneTalks we are committed to educating and spreading knowledge about drones to society. We stopped many people in the streets of Fuerteventura and recorded their answers; this is an example of one of the locals giving us her impressions.
