Saw this coming from a Mike away. Still, it’s disappointing to see Utah Gov. Cox echo baseless claims about the Kirk shooter’s ideology. Leaders shouldn’t be drafted into Trump’s culture war at the expense of truth.

In today’s America, the line between racist and opportunist has nearly vanished. Too many are willing to exploit hate if it wins them power, clicks, or cash.

They jump to mislead in moments of crisis because outrage is currency. Fear and fury lock in loyalty, drive clicks, and shift blame. Truth comes later — but by then, they have cashed the checks and the damage is done.

I look forward to the day when we can welcome empathetic leadership back to our country. Leadership rooted in compassion and understanding is what builds trust, unity, and resilience.
