Hey if you hate censorship and want to do more than just doompost online, you can actually do something: Being annoying!
Hoards of people have been blowing up the phones of payment processing companies to pressure them not to bend to the whims of puritan groups. Link in replies!
@TerongKun context was hate towards cg, and I said "no hate" for cg..
I was just replying to what Aman said, because hand drawn sakuga deserves greater praise...
I guess the point of the post was to put a hater on blast, not make a point about animation... so I should have ignored it lol.
@DoubleZZeta_ yeah, berserk was such a letdown..
cg for berserk makes sense because of all the huge fights with armor and horses..
but there was no love or care put into even the most essential and basic things like modeling Gut's face...
I always blame the company... Artists get mistreated
@drowsy_oak It's on me that i saw CG anime looks like Berserk or Fist of the north star exist with the most mobile game CG ever and consider em as effortless.
as bad as 2D anime exist, it's still greatly better result than the worst CG
@drowsy_oak Such as the clip here, what special about the show is the hair design and it coloring. This thing, can't be draw with paintings. The colouring and lighting won't be the same.
@DoubleZZeta_ like, the majority seems "okay" with cg sakuga, so why would a company ever invest in hand-drawn when it takes so much more labor?
hand-drawn animation is a laborous treat from a skilled artist. Holding it equal to cg means it will die.
@DoubleZZeta_ for sakuga? I've never seen CG come even close to hand-drawn, especially for fast action sequences, such as the post I was replying to...
@drowsy_oak@Amanposting@RainbowDeww You praise for time saving, I praise it whenever the director intended to do it as their artistic choices as long as it worked.
Most of the CG might be time saving but there's a time I appreciate CG more than 2D when they did it right
@xiong5009 and it would have looked even better if they paid a pro sakuga artist to animate it by hand, but it either wasn't in the budget or they didn't have time to animate it by hand.
@drowsy_oak If you truly notice this clip post here, you would know it is actually pretty simply. From characters design to especially background design, there isn't really anything complex there that's time consuming.
What amazing about the clip is just the movement/motion of the character.
