Twitter seems to be gangs of people trying to 'out-extreme' one another. Attempting to be fair and balanced these days, and trying to see 'both sides', simply means you're hated by 'both sides' for not totally agreeing with them. Even asking a question is seen as a threat. Scary.

@KathyBelov It's been profoundly frustrating to see the tone-deaf championing of lockdowns from many in the higher education sector. So many refuse to acknowledge how difficult it has been for culturally and linguistically communities in precarious employment. We're a very privileged group.

I hate lockdown. I hate hard lockdown. I hate 200+ days of lockdown. But, most importantly, it saves the health and lives of so many people, young and old. So, as awful as lockdown is, I'm prepared to be locked down for as long as it takes for a safe solution to be reached.

@drrobbiewilson Reminds me! I had an honors student work on a Pareto-based approach for optimal teams in ult. frisbee (where there is lots of data). A bit like moneyball, but more flexible success+training balance. I've wanted to write it up. May be able to do same w/ soccer, if you R interested
