Food sources of iodine varied by country but included: - milk/dairy products - fish - eggs - bread - but only if fortified (e.g. Netherlands). Overall we need more, and better, data on iodine intake to inform policy 4/4

Assessing iodine intake using dietary methods is challenging - just 32% of surveys included estimates of iodine from iodised salt. This would be more of a problem in some countries than others (e.g. in the UK iodised salt is rarely used) 3/4
