I asked for the shingles vaccine at my regular pharmacy and was declined because I'm not 50. I want the vaccine because shingles looks AWFUL and I know people who had it in their 40s. I'm going to try another pharmacy. Any tips on what to say? @drugmonkey or anyone.

I just found out that Benjamin Franklin owned slaves. This is very disappointing. He is my favorite Founding Father. I LOVE his autobiography. He is so smart; so approachable. He contributed so much. What happened.

The door to the laundry room in my apartment complex weighs at least 12lbs-15lbs and I'm not even joking. It's also at the top of four steps. I hate it. Mom says it is a "fire door." What? Does that mean it keeps fire contained? Do laundry machines catch fire in 2026?

@PiecesofMargo "a liquid medicine that coats the esophagus and stomach." Double check the name of that Rx. This sounds like sucralfate, which would be a good choice for your case. If that's what it is, shop around. Drug prices can vary widely. Just did a quick goodrx search & saw it @ 43.33

The doctor at the hospital who performed my endoscopy prescribed omeprazole (Prilosec), a liquid medicine that coats the esophagus and stomach. Just FYI, my insurance doesn't cover it and it's $238 out of pocket. Outrageous for a drug that doesn't save your life or get you high.

@PiecesofMargo Take that pantoprazole about 30 minutes to an hour before your first meal of the day. That way it's in your system when your stomach wants to start churning out acid.

And can anyone recommend anything to soothe GERD and inflammation of the esophagus? I'm on Pantoprazole but thus far the only thing that helps with the pain are sips of ice water and milk. It's miserable.

@PiecesofMargo Maalox or Mylanta might be worth a shot. Add some pepcid to that pantoprazole (make sure that pantoprazole dose is 40mg). If you can, prescription for carafate liquid might help. Also, you might find 40mg of omeprazole works better for you than the pantoprazole.

@Pontifex I like Pope Leo has much as I can like any clergy (and I still can't believe they elected an American) but if he wasn't sick in the head, he would have chosen a different profession. And the Church has never been a friend to women. Or anyone except themselves.

The sex lives of consenting adults are not the government's business and this ridiculous notion is a pipe dream. Zero chance of being implemented here. Better move to Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan if you want to see adulterers punished by the state.

As Governor, I will change the law so if anyone cheats on their wife/husband, they lose EVERYTHING. I will not tolerate adultery. @ByronDonalds on the other hand won’t do anything about adultery except commit it.

@PiecesofMargo What??? You were taking pantoprazole before you got to the hospital, were you taking it every day? Because you DO NOT stop this class of drugs cold turkey if a person has been taking them chronically. You get rebound acid secretion. This is basic stuff. Good Lord.

For reasons I cannot discern, they took away my Rx PPI and gave me a TUMS for the night. Still have not been examined by a physician. I don't know why the Drs are not wondering about my case? Do they think I am making this up? I am not in the hospital for fun.

Question for peeps in other states: Can you buy alcohol (and cigarettes) in drug stores/pharmacies? Please let me know! I'm curious! In NV, you can pick up alcohol (beer, wine, liquor), get your prescription meds, AND play slot machines! You can also play slots in gas stations.
