Another very important point is that when I’m editing, I first think about the emotion I want to convey in that segment, and the kind of visuals I want to present. So I start with the emotion, then move on to the visuals. After that, I look for background music that matches the emotion I just decided on. Once I’ve added the BGM, then match the footage to it. That’s generally my workflow. If you pay attention to the BGM I use especially on Instagram you’ll notice that it always matches the mood of the moment. I think that’s really important.
