@MikeHalford604 I don’t get it. Those guys are best friends with Hughes but they signed long term deals and *didnt* know he was planning to leave? Like they never asked him if he was sticking around? Or did they just want the bag regardless of who signed the checks?
English

@LaheyHNIC Agents love Alvin. He gave out long term contracts like candy
English

@sekeresandprice Short of an impact player for impact player trade, this is the best return. Would have loved another pick though.
English

Do you feel better about the Quinn Hughes trade today than at the time it was made? #Canucks
English

@J_TheCynic People actually forgot the whole thing but he resurrected it out of the blue
English

@Buckfoston Are we actually comparing MLB to MLS? City and fans will bend over backwards for an MLB team.
English

@DonnieandDhali @FriedgeHNIC Rutherford was hired after Benning was fired.

"They never made a change without having the next guy.."
@FriedgeHNIC on potential changes with Adam Foote and Patrik Allvin, and looking at the history of changes by the Ownership group.

@SatiarShah @VCanucksNews The bar is so low, but you have to keep him around. We built our team around selfish players since the Horvat/Miller/EP/QH era started. Time to reset…
English

@sarobertsonca Canadians are so dumb. No wonder Americans don’t respect them.
English

@arpan_on_BC Hard to stomach. Been a while since we’ve had a franchise altering pick. Possibly never.
English

@mattsekeres The job is his if he wants it. They are trying to figure out what to do with Alvin.
English

If the Canucks are going to deny Ryan Johnson the opportunity of career advancement in Nashville (where he lives), then they owe him promotion within their own ranks.
At least, that's what functional organizations who care about people (especially loyal employees) would do.
Sekeres and Price@sekeresandprice
Do you want to see Ryan Johnson elevated to #Canucks GM?
English

@garymasonglobe Gary Mason doesn’t wonder. He has direct access to ownership.

Here’s my take on the Canucks situation: As the Canucks go into a pivotal off-season, it’s hard to say if there will be front office change theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/…

English

In 2021, when Pittsburgh was looking to hire a new front office, Mike Gillis provided a 27 page document to them that broke down why he believed he could be the person to turn Pittsburgh hockey back around.
He took ownership of his faults, described what he did after being fired to get better (he mentioned Navy SEAL teams VUCA environments as something he was drawn to), and what changes he would make under a future tenure.
Here was his approach to NHL Management in 2021.
Even with his previous faults in Vancouver, Gillis has shown a willingness to learn and an eagerness to improve.
The #LeafsForever have apparently hired a third party to help find their next Hockey Management lead, so it shouldn't be a surprise to hear he is in the running.

Quinn Hughes not sure how to feel ahead of first game vs #Canucks. Sticks up for City of Vancouver at the end
English

@ThomasDrance @TrevBeggs I think calling a guy writing for a website a “journalist” is a stretch.
English

The #Canucks have provided a statement on removing @TrevBeggs from Rogers Arena last week to the Globe and Mail.
The club had previously offered no comment to other inquiring outlets, including The Athletic: theglobeandmail.com/gift/68b477bdf…

BRUH.
This can’t be… I still very much believe in Zeev Buium and think he’s got a bright future, but there is no responsible reason he should be getting an 8-year extension and at that rate…. What happened to earning your money and proving your worth?
NHL Rumour Report@NHLRumourReport
Rick Dhaliwal: On the Canucks to-do list this summer will be getting an extension done with Zeev Buium, I see a lot of people thinking...8 years and $8 million per; if it's an 8 year deal I can see it being $9m plus - Donnie & Dhali (3/24)
English

@JFreshHockey Yea no one is saying he’s a $9M player except his agent and Dhaliwal (mouthpiece)
English

Call me old-fashioned, but I feel like even if you're paying for potential you gotta make sure the guy is a player before you dump $60-70M on his lap

We have seen some bad hockey over the last decade, but when was the last time we saw young important players decide they weren't going to take losing lying down? I love to see this and I hope it's the beginning of a new identity of toughness, win or lose. #Canucks

Young defensemen Brandt Clarke and Zeev Buium with a HEATED fight that the ref had an extra hard time stopping 🥊😳
English

@VCanucksNews Relax guys. This is Dhaliwal doing his job, which is being a mouthpiece for the agents. They then feed him some info in return.
