@BBCScotlandNews Don't know how it works in a backward country like America but where I live this would categorise the buses as public transport... American heads will be exploding

@kevinhatchard @WhiteNoise1879 They’re following the NFL model and it’s not good. They will have 9 games abroad, including one in Australia, this season. Goal is to get to 1 every week.

The thin end of the wedge. Fans should protest this with the same ferocity as they protested the European Super League. You think they’ll stop at one game per season? Soon it’ll be five, or ten. One game is too many. It damages the integrity of leagues, and it sidelines fans.
Matt Hughes@MattHughesMedia

Domestic leagues to be allowed one game abroad each season, with a cap of five international matches per host country, under proposed new FIFA regulations. Story with ⁦@NickAmes82⁩ | The Guardian theguardian.com/football/2026/…

@Viennajeff60 @TheAthleticFC Cant get there from Newark. Penn station or Hoboken through seacaucus. Limited direct service on game days from Hoboken. No idea what they may charge for that.

@pkedit In New Jersey’s case, they are supposed to foot the bill for transporting fans who are spending their hotel, restaurant and entertainment dollars in another state.

FIFA’s pushback on Mikie Sherrill’s comments gets to the core of the issue. FIFA required very tangible costs cities and states must pay for. What do they get in return? Proverbial « economic impact. » Problem is, FIFA is promising « millions of fans. » An absurd number.

Exclusive @TheAthleticFC New Jersey’s NJ Transit this week discussed pricing close to or around $150 for round trip from New York Penn Station to MetLife for World Cup games. Earlier this week, we reported it would be $100+. This is *even* higher. nytimes.com/athletic/72024…

@GaryAPrince In the end I think there will be some sort of deal. Boston is the only other venue that trying to do this. My friends and I are going to 3 matches in Philly, the subway will be the same $2.75 it always is.
