Much gratitude to @mdartscouncil for granting me an Emergency Grant to cover seasonal loss of income as a freelancer. This provides a little bit of late summer security while being able to concentrate on music composition and community collaborations. 🙏
Had a great trip out to West Virginia with Shodekeh to record for Elaine McMillion Sheldon’s film “King Coal”. Also had a chance to do some of our own recording of site-specific improvisation at this magical spot in Monongahela National Forest.
This morning I finished a new version of my new choral piece which includes the use of breath as a musical element in the way have been imagining. gofund.me/bc2e652f#GoFundMe
My favorite movement of “Vymatics”, based on the golden dart frog and Ecuador poison frog. Shodekeh on vocal percussion through pan flute, joined by my wife Jezie Zhunio on vocals/vocal percussion. Great night at the @NatlAquarium
So proud of the work that Shodekeh, myself, and Erica Hansen did to create “Vymatics”, the first Voyages immersive event at the @NatlAquarium , exploring acoustic biodiversity, breath art, soundscape mixing, and cymatic visualization.
Just updated this with a link to the score and MIDI rendition of the first dimension of this piece, the sung choir parts. Next are the breaths between the notes, as another layer. gofund.me/29dddb32
