Isn't part of the problem that many states are winner takes all? Even California has a lot of Republican voters, but they are crushed by the Bay area and LA county creating a super majority. If California had to pro-rata its electoral vote then it will not be a 50 vote slam dunk for the blues time and time again. Voter turn out may surprise you. It was not that long ago California used to elect Republican governors. Reagan was a Californian.

@dubyaOK @Rightanglenews It defeats the equality of the electoral system allowing every state a vote that matters. California and NY alone will win elections for Democrats if we remove the electoral college system. And thats the direction they want to head in.

BREAKING - Outrage is erupting across Virginia after Abigail Spanberger signed HB965 into law, effectively rendering Virginians’ presidential votes null and void, with the measure handing the states electoral votes to the national popular vote winner regardless of states results.

@pureMetatron Why do they do that? I always hit that button "show less shorts" and they return very shortly. TikTok sucks, don't be TikTok 2.0

I support this message. They should give a setting to opt out of shorts.
Vlogging Through History@VTHistory25

Dear @YouTube I don't want shorts. I don't want to see them, I don't want to watch them. Stop forcing them down my throat. Stop forcing them down my audience's throat. You're killing long-form content creators. Let Tik Tok be Tik Tok and be what you are.

@PhoenixKukini @Rightanglenews To be fair, I think they did a superb job. Not everything remains fit for purpose indefinitely. A tweak or two on this 250 yr old masterpiece and she will be good to go.

As punishment for most do you being politically retarded, I will devote the next week on here to talking about 80s nostalgia and other such topics. You deserve basically nothing else.

Better plan remove half the 80,000 MOD civil servants. Retire half the bloated staff officers (far too many admirals and generals). Increase the reserves, mostly light infantry by at least 30,000. Focus spending on Air defence, drone and anti drones. Use what is left to replace Trident with a home grown system.

@dubyaOK @Rightanglenews The electoral college is the most brilliant voting system ever created. It stops mob control while still giving power to each vote. Simple majority voting allows Hitler to get elected with 37% of the vote. We need a mini electoral college system within each state.

@bklewis201 @DGordon1971 @Rightanglenews As far as I can tell from over here in Blighty most US Federal appointees need to be approved by standing committees of both the HOR and Senate. Doesn't that (along with their control of the purse strings) give them oversight over the Federal government?

@dubyaOK @DGordon1971 @Rightanglenews The duly elected Legislatures have had no representation in the Federal Govt since 1913 and the passage of the 17th Amendment. The house was the body of the people and the Senate was the body of the States. 1913 was a pretty bad year for the idea of liberty!

@dubyaOK @Rightanglenews And completely spits in the face of the Constitution and only makes sense of she thinks Virginia is going red. Though on the plus side she just gave every republican in a deep blue state a reason to vote which they didn't previously have.

If a small boat illegal migrant is found to be lying about their history in order to remain in Britain, we would deport them. If a small boat illegal migrant is found to be entirely truthful about their history in order to remain in Britain, we would deport them. All. Gone.

I suspect that unless everyone mutually agrees a political system is free and fair, you risk corruption and cynicism taking over. The US has a largely good system but it is looks to be under too much negative pressure as various competing groups distort the system in an endless tit for tat erosion of your democratic principles. Dimpled chads led to gerrymandering, which led to iffy postal voting which led to more gerrymandering. You need to break this cycle, agree to play fair, and avoid descending into even more corruption. I've seen multiple reports of red and blue states overtly gerrymandering in advance of your mid terms. This shit needs to stop. Democracy is sacred, do not risk killing it off. In many of the comments on this Electoral college, many have admitted that this system is giving overweight political leverage to Americans in sparsely populated states at the expense of those in bigger states as if that is a virtue. They want to protect that extra political power they have that comes at the expense of disenfranchised voters elsewhere. I understand that 40% of New Mexico voters voted for Trump, but Biden received 100% of New Mexico's electoral vote. That is broken. Fix it.

@DGordon1971 @Rightanglenews Sigh, each state no matter how large or small sends two senators to the upper chamber, correct? This means state interests are strongly represented in the upper house, protecting the interests of more rural parts of America.

@dubyaOK @Rightanglenews Not really, no. Senators are elected in statewide votes, not nationwide. North Dakota chooses North Dakota's Senator, and California chooses California's Senator. We're talking about a Presidential candidate completely ignoring North Dakota in favor of California and New York.

@Fat_Electrician Won't this trigger a rush to exit and damage the state's tax receipts even further? All the fence sitters will be nudged to leave. The law of unintended consequences will catch up with her even before SCOTUS does.

The new trend in government (both Republican and Democrat) is pushing blatantly unconstitutional policies, knowing they’ll get away with it for years until the Supreme Court finally steps in. The only real way to stop it is accountability: if a law or policy is ruled unconstitutional, anyone who voted for it or implemented it should be immediately removed from office and barred from holding office again. They’re all sworn to defend and uphold the Constitution. This shouldn’t even be controversial.
