A temporary visa is a student visa, H1-B visa, tourism vacation visa, seasonal worker visa, refugee visa ... It is not a "build my new life in the USA forever" visa. It is a temporary visa with an end date. Nobody should be upset when you don't get to stay forever.

At this point, we need to just ban the H-1B visa entirely. You aren't going to convince me there is a "labor shortage" when 42% of recent college grads are underemployed, stuck in jobs that don't require their degree. Start giving people a chance instead of throwing away their future for your own greed. It's destroying our country.

Objectively, the Visa program prioritizes foreign nationals over American citizens for the benefit of the corporations who lobby the government. It is time we put an end to it and start building up our people first.

Indians are complaining about having to return to India to apply and wait for a Green card. "I built a life in the USA, it is cruel to make me wait in back in India." You shouldn't be "building a life" in a foreign country while on a temporary visa. It's not your home country.

H-1B was built in 1990 when your “talent pool” was whoever could drive to your office. There was no Zoom. No remote. Three decades later, that excuse is dead. We’re laying off tech workers en masse. If your pitch is “not one American can do this so we need the visa,” that's not a shortage, that's a discount.
