This! Having UP as your dream school is valid, but it’s also worth noting your privilege. There are many other univs that offer equally solid education. It’s so frustrating to see some of my privileged schoolmates come across as tone-deaf and lacking empathy about this topic.

Totoo. I don’t want to sound preachy, but I passed UPCAT back in undergrad and I still chose DLSU because I knew someone needed the slot more than me. How can we dream of a better country if we’re unwilling to challenge the very systems of privilege we benefit from?
