I read the first hundred pages of The Road last year, and read the first hundred pages of Blood Meridian this year, and in both instances, gave up, because the books never clicked. Lyrical writing, but the characters are reduced to way down Maslow's hierarchy, and the tone is so relentlessly bleak, with almost no humanity breaking through, it was difficult to feel anything besides the flint clicking against the cold steel in the overwhelming darkness. I know many of you love it, but to me, it's overwrought, overstylized, and overhyped.

This is an extremely depressing article on "dinergoth," which is nothing more than the ultimate trickle-down of degeneracy to the lower classes. It's a trend that Common Filth (RIP) and others like myself were warning about a decade ago. Contra the views of the online right, Middle America, rural America are not bulwarks against libtardation. They're completely subsumed by it. Dinergoth is the aesthetic of ruined suburbia and dying small towns. It's Syracuse, not New York City. People who you think would be salt-of-the-Earth Christian conservatives are getting bull nose rings and gooning to hentai. You do not see this among white people in NYC. The article describes dinergoth as the child of economic collapse and the online world. The dinergoths have no future. They're not going to own homes, have good jobs, have families. The realm of Discord grooming servers and Crunchyroll is all they have. It reminds me of an article Jason Pargin wrote for CRACKED a decade ago discussing how MAGA was an understandable reaction to rural America being completely wiped out over decades. Dinergoth is the final form of this financial strip-mining. The kids are not all right.

@Zrob0 How much is mid-range Draven's WR gated by miracle Draven do you think? My concern is if they issue bans targeting miracle then mid-range Draven rises to 54-55% WR, any other legend that can run miracle loses WR, and the meta is even less diverse.

I know we're in spoiler season right now, but this is the Set 2 matchup Matrix from both big events this past weekend. 406 players and 971 matches. I split up Miracle Draven and Midrange Draven as well into their own archtypes.

@maxachussettes @MegaMogwai Hand size is an interesting parameter. Either impacting the opp's hand size some way or getting some benefit from the opp's hand size (energy, power, might, points, idk).

@MegaMogwai I think Invert Timelines living in purple makes it tough as well, other colors should have more options to control opp’s hand size if purple has most of the draw

Riftbound is an amazing card game, huge potential, and watching the regionals was an awesome experience. Definitely made me feel like playing myself. There is one issue though, that I just can't really get past... As it is right now, it really does seem like if you want to be able to draw cards efficiently, you MUST play purple. No other color comes even close. This has created a massive misbalance between the colors that I think is pretty evident. Fury and Orange literally have no viable draw. Order has Hidden blade, Green needs to find Stellacorn. Blue does have some options but you'll notice the blue/purple deck (Ezreal) runs: PURPLE DRAW. Because why pay 4 or take a turn hiding a card to draw 2 when you can just play zero energy pot of greed? I've been practicing a lot with non-purple decks (because I'm a hipster wannabe) and I am not implying my skill level is anywhere near high as of now, but you don't have to be an expert player to notice this. Whenever I queue into purple, their hand is pretty much always much larger than mine. I hope this changes with the upcoming set, and we don't have card draw being so restricted to one or two colors. Amazing game, exceptional design, massive potential. Balance is the only problem I see as of now. Just wanted to share my perspective as someone just getting into it.

@MegaMogwai Maybe instead of giving the other domain's similar draw ability they could give them something that interacts with the enemy's draws/discards. Order: taxes draw, Mind: copies draw, Body: taxes discard, Calm: draws when enemy discards. Idk needs work.
