@bbambied That’s just poor writing then, she’s the one who begged tenzin and her dad to let her go to republic city. Also Aang knew a war was coming that’s why they were going to send him to another temple to finish training. He absolutely had to deal with the political aspect.

- For a while, we had a nice detective saga between Mako and Varrick
- the red lotus would have gotten away with Korra in Zaofu if not for the brothers
- Tenzin, Mako and the others would have died if not for Bolin

The actual bad writing in Korra is that her team is just not as strongly written compared to Aangs team. Even the animals were boring 😭Korra did a lot of heavy lifting for them.

They had good writing though, its just very subtle as with a lot of other stuff in the show.
TLOK mainly focused on Korra's character arc, so other characters didn't get enough screen time for proper development.
