Last Tuesday the @Dumbarton_Acad Girls U14s had an enjoyable day out at the Amy McDonald Cup which took place at Toryglen. The side had wins against Rosshall and Govan with losses against Glasgow Gaelic, Holyrood and Hermitage. Well done to everyone involved. 👏🏻👏🏻

Tonight the U13’s lost out at home in the @sschoolsfa in the first round of the plate competition. A double from Hunter wasn’t enough. Very nice background setting however @Dumbarton_Acad. Good luck to Glasgow Gaelic school in the next round.

@Dumbarton_Acad girls took part in the first ever Amy McDonald Cup at Toryglen. The team played 5 games with 2 wins & 3 defeats. Both Gall & Wane scored goals. Excellent effort from all players ensured a very enjoyable experience. The team then enjoyed a post match meal together.

Congratulations to our U16s football team who progressed to the quarter finals of the RS McColl cup with a victory against the Glasgow Gaelic school. A double from Barbour, as well as goals from C. MacDonald and an OG saw the side through. 👏🏻

In an incredible match, the U13s came back from 6-2 down away @Hermiefootball to win 8-6 (eight-six), yes you read the correct. The outstanding Marshall notched 4 with the remaining goals scored by Carmichael, Robertson, Filshie and an Own Goal. @GSFAfootball classic match. 👏🏻👏🏻

Tonight our U14s exited the @GSFAfootball Crookston cup with a home defeat to an impressive @VoLAPEDept. Despite the beginning of Storm Darragh, both teams battled right through difficult conditions. Special mention to the @Dumbarton_Acad referee team of Paul, Callum and Kyle.👏🏻

Today begins 16 days of action against gender-based violence. We’re flying the flag in solidarity with all those who have experienced GBV. Our Church street office & Titan Crane will be lit up in orange to mark the start.

Today is the first day of #16Days and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. To mark this day we are launching our #StillNotSafe child contact campaign. During #16 days and beyond we will be pushing for reform of the systems that deliver damaging child contact decisions and make women and children unsafe and re-traumatised. We will advocate for change, implementation and reform across Government, justice and legal systems, social work, and support services. These decisions result in abuse against women and children after they are supposedly free of their abuser. They are not. Over #16Days we’ll share the experiences of those who have been through the system. It’s time for reform. #StillNotSafe #16Days
