I am absolutely devastated to hear about the hit-and-run in Barrhaven that left a crossing guard with life-threatening injuries. My thoughts are with him and his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Crossing guards play such an important role in keeping our children and families safe every day. They deserve our respect and our protection. I’m asking anyone who may have seen something or has information about this incident to please come forward and contact police at 613-236-1222 extension 2345. Even the smallest detail could help.

Impaired driving is the leading cause of death on Ontario roads. As part of our plan to #ProtectOntario & hold offenders accountable, our government is developing new measures that would require impaired drivers to pay financial support if they kill a child’s parent or guardian. @DrDillwood @fordnation I’m not stating that it will physically slow the cars down. The speed cameras will however alter the behaviour of drivers. Plenty of studies prove this.

Starting today, cash-grab municipal speed cameras are no longer allowed in Ontario. Instead, we’re supporting proactive, proven safety measures like speed bumps, roundabouts and better signage that slow drivers down without making life more expensive.

@SpiderSens18 @fordnation I don’t enjoy receiving tickets. That’s why I slow down when driving in school zones. For the sake of our children, I hope you do as well.

@dunkelman1 @fordnation why do certain type of ppl always want to slow ppl down, it's like wearing a mask thinking ure doing any good but it's just for false moral highs. why not have a more capable population and try to dumb and slow ppl down thinking there's honor in that

@dunkelman1 @fordnation A dominoes driver got 17 tickets all timed at 34 in a 30 zone in one day in one shift. It was reported he said he will spend 3 months just to cover his tickets

@PrabSarkaria So instead of speeders paying for this, now all of our taxes are going up. I thought you guys were supposed to be conservatives.

We're investing $210 million in proven road safety measures won't raise costs for drivers! Traffic-calming infrastructure like speed bumps & raised crosswalks, as well as high visibility signage & increased police enforcement will support school zones where municipal speed cameras were previously deployed. 🔗: news.ontario.ca/en/release/100…

@SjamieIt This makes me so angry. Can’t believe our Premier is making our roads more dangerous on purpose.

@hardeepgrewal_ So people were speeding? They got tickets and hopefully they change their behaviour. Please keep the cameras, they are improving safety a lot.

Speed cameras were meant to make streets safer, not fill city coffers. One camera in Brampton issued 32,000 tickets in just three weeks. That is not safety, that is a money grab. Our government is ending cash grab cameras and investing in real safety measures like speed bumps, signage, and education to stop speeding before it happens. We are standing up for drivers, parents, and families.
