I'm a fan of Featherstone and know how much he cares but, I have to say, don't think he's done himself any favours here; understand him sounding crestfallen, but the lack of fight in his voice and the same sort of messaging around not seeing it coming falls a bit flat.

Pools are a mid table non league team now. The challenge is to compete for promotion and the squad needs stability and strength (short term loans galore are pointless as proved) - let Featherstone build his own team for next season. Haven’t Pools had enough managers of late ….

Don’t get this refund the fans lark at all. Pools lost and lost very badly - been there before plenty of times - but now people want their £20 back? Really. There’s more important issues at the club after so many years of failure - sweeping changes needed on and off the pitch.

I have a lot of time and respect for NF and he's always a pleasure to deal with but don't understand or agree with his comments that Pools are not ready to be an expansive, attacking team. Fans demand a front-footed approach and many of Pools' problems are self-inflicted.
