People avoid govt schools despite paying taxes and an education cess, because the system has failed to earn their trust. Private schools exploit this compulsion. With no real alternatives, parents are squeezed and intimidated.
Here, a principal from a reputed private school in Hardoi is berating parents for buying books from a cheaper shop instead of the school’s designated vendor. The insulting tone, “shut up,” “naam kaat do”, says it all.
Almost everyone with power in India abuses it to bully those without it.

I have irrefutable proof that @Lenskart_com CEO @peyushbansal is LYING when he says that the grooming code that says NO Bindi is ‘outdated’. I have proof of a video audit with the date 08/04/2026 where an employee was given a low rating for wearing a bindi. Will share in due course. Happy to share everything with a good lawyer. Lenskart is a publicly listed company that has to follow @SEBI_India guidelines, not Bansal’s private enterprise and they are violating article 15 of the Indian constitution. Dear @peyushbansal please specify how exactly is the policy document ‘inaccurate’. I have attached a screen shot that clearly states ‘hijab is okay, but bindi and kalawa are not’. That is religious asymmetry. Please DO SHARE your ‘present guidelines’ as of today, so we know exactly what @Lenskart_com does. This statement just reads like weak damage control as advised by a lawyer. Sorry, doesn’t cut it!

So I confirmed, this is genuine. This is what @peyushbansal tells his employees, hijab is okay, but bindi/tilak/Kalawa is not, for @Lenskart_com, a company that exists in Hindu majority Bharat, where most of the employees and consumers are Hindu! Another reminder of how fragile stability is in the private sector. One secures employment, income begins to flow, long-term plans take shape, home, car, loans, EMIs. And then, a single decision by the corporate to “rationalize” or “downsize,” and everything collapses overnight.
Unless you quickly re-enter the job market, fixed liabilities don’t pause; they compound stress and can upend an otherwise steady life.
While you earn, you must pay taxes. The moment you lose your job, you’re on your own. In fact, you even have to pay tax on the severance also.
Maybe it’s time to introduce reforms, such as mandating severance pay ranging from three months to one year based on an employee’s tenure, as is the norm in the West; allowing EMI pauses for a 3-6 months; and providing a time-bound monthly allowance from the govt for involuntary job losses.
If Ladla/Ladlis can get free money, free ration, free water, and electricity, without paying any income tax, why not support a worker who has been paying taxes and contributing?
