ee in australia seems below mid as fuck. i only see two options i can take: 1. grind technical for interviews and get an internship in america, china or europe 2. quickly solve novel issues found while researching, publish solutions online and eventually create a startup as i immerse myself that way

even the veterans are uncertain and looking for confirmation from someone/somewhere. never been a better opp to double down on research to find a gap in this market.

some viral names in online entrepreneurship right now didn't even exist last year (take joseph shin and rex cheung). entrepreneurship is still an egalitarian attention market that rewards momentum and iterations.

realised that i perform best without pressure when i have the freedom to explore and let my curiosity guide me. a lot of my past failures came from me not putting myself in the right headspace/environment to perform best. might just be the most important discovery for myself.

noticed significant improvement in my impromptu articulation after ~2 years of conscious speaking. seriously a super power to be able to express my thoughts with potency on the fly. few tips: > critically think about what you want to say. the most elegant baa from a sheep is still a baa. > expand your vocab. replace doomscrolling with books and absorb an author's semantics. > incorporate new words into casual conversations. it might sound awkward at first but becomes natural with practice. > fix bad habits. fix your lisp, fix your tonality, fix your tendency to hesitate, fix your eye contact. > don't be afraid to sound stupid. the progression is like a j-curve, you will sound even worse than before for a while but the training will compound. > the most potent sentence is the easiest to understand. don't larp and use jargon to sound elitist. you will sound stupid and no one will know the point you're making. don't know what i should be posting so ripped this off the dome. still trading and getting started with an embedded systems personal project so want to document them. see you later.

@laplacemonk fully vibe coded apps have terrible infra & backends because cc won't flag any issues and the prompter won't know what needs to be fixed. huge security holes, no logging & monitoring...

you can easily tell the difference between people who know how to code and uses claude vs doesn't know how to code and uses claude. the skill gap still remain worlds apart.

romanticism is the ultimate cope the growing sentiments of 'romanticising life' on social media was a fight against our seemingly nihilistic future. but it has been doing more harm than good. A mimesis to 19th century romanticism which emerged as a response to industrialism and disenchantment. Except the romantics of this period produced poetry, music, paintings and philosophy to reassert the soul's primacy. but now? there is no fight against the void, only decoration of a cage everyone is stuck in. they used beauty as a weapon against industrial dehumanisation. we use it as an anaesthetic. the ugly solution i've been a victim of this trend, suffering inside my own fictive narrative designed to protect me from harsh realities. but i found a solution that slapped me back into a truly romantic present. if there is a solution to tackle this nihilism it's pragmatism. pragmatism: the commitment to action over aesthetic. a dull, painful and repetitive friction that is hard to romanticise. a story i refer back to is a brief stretch of time where i would spend everyday after school swimming. i told my friend that i am going to win the state championship. "i want to be honest, and i'm not trying to be mean, but that's not possible for you" he was right. at that time i wasn't a bad swimmer, but i wasn't anyone special. but that sentence stuck as a needle that stabbed me whenever i didn't feel like i was training hard enough. several months later, i reached the finals. i didn't win but i felt unrecognisable. i could confidently call myself a damn good swimmer. the training hurt, the race hurt, then it finished, and the finishing meant something because it hurt. my euphoria wasn't projected onto the experience, but rather forged by it. romanticism is a cowardly mask created by doomers to justify their nihilism. a softening of life that stops people from becoming new. the meaning of life is always personal, but to summarise this piece, a true romantic would go and battle the nihilism their way.

2026 in 10 minutes. the aspects of life i previously neglected became my biggest priorities this year and old insecurities have become almost laughable. my heart still feels heavy in its desire to continue reaching new heights. goal remains similar yet i feel like a new soul that's fully understanding of what it truly wishes. happy new years everyone!

ct accounts pivoting content to unrelated passion/hobbies revealed that crypto was seen as a lucrative opportunity and not something we actually cared about (and that's fine)
