Thousands of Christians are fleeing ethnic cleansing in Nigeria as Islamist groups wage what many describe as genocide.
8,000+ killed in 2023.
3,100–4,000+ in 2024.
Over 7,000 massacred in just the first 220 days of 2025 alone (avg. ~30–32 per day), with totals likely exceeding 8,000–10,000+ for the year.
Since 2000: 62,000+ Christians slaughtered by Boko Haram, ISWAP, and Fulani militias. Churches burned, villages razed, communities displaced. The world must not stay silent.

@julianwielandt @StevenMcinerney @mnsandbns not my point - the point is there at least some objective morals, even if there is only one, my point stands. yes i know there are many laws in different sects that change. the moral law of God in Christianity has never changed. only the Levitical and ceremonial e.g circumcision
English

@dvoneshot @StevenMcinerney @mnsandbns Are you serious? Of course morality is relative. That’s why it is considered moral for a jew to cut off their foreskin but not for other religions. In fact Christian morality changed over the years so you just sound incredibly uneducated with twisted logic
English

@julianwielandt @StevenMcinerney @mnsandbns not religious, a philosophical end. universal/objective morality can only exist if a pre-existent/transcendent mind creates/defines it. otherwise we create and define it, making morality relative; based on the individual, culture, gov. making it an opinion not a real value
English

@dvoneshot @StevenMcinerney @mnsandbns You can find the same and even better morality in Buddhism. My point is religion is made up by empathetic loving people who tried to civilise less intelligent people during history. Claiming out morals stem from a made up religion is utterly delusional
English

@StevenMcinerney @mnsandbns yes, i do think the internet has desensitised the general public and fuelled apathy, making moral indignation and uprising less and less likely, but evil has always been a problem. it is certainly deeper than religion because it exists outside of it, i mean look at Epsitein
English

@dvoneshot @mnsandbns The internet was the beginning of the end.
English

@StevenMcinerney @mnsandbns the point i’m making is the dilemma is a human dilemma, not a religion dilemma. there is still slavery, rape and war going on around the world without religious even mentioned, and even in your initial tweet you observe the general public becalming less empathetic
English

@mnsandbns @dvoneshot We just evolved and got smarter and as a result we started to think of others more. It's as simple as that. Religion is not the root cause of that.
English

@StevenMcinerney i'd prefer you state what religion, because even though we all know historically that religion has been twisted so evil people can justify their twisted desires, it says nothing about the actual text, which in Christianity's case is the exact opposite.
English

Makes you wonder why there was so much pillaging and raping hundreds of years ago when divine belief was at its highest point? I don't think belief in religion has anything to do with it. A good person is a good person due to their actions, not what or who they believe in. I am not a religious person, in fact I'm quite anti-religion generally speaking, but I understand empathy and decency because I was raised by a loving family and want people to be happy. It's that simple.
