I hate that this is a thing (I understand why it is). The fact is that playoff tickets are very expensive and/or if you're a season ticket holder, an opportunity to make money back. It's not the specific fault of this year's Sixers, but the letdowns over the last decade have left a mark and people have very little faith in the team. When they win everyone gets very excited, but the minute they get down or lose people check out pretty quick. When it went 1-1, I figured the building would be like this. I don't blame local fans for not wanting to invest $1000 in a pair of tickets or the players for being disappointed by seeing and hearing how it does in the building. I do think this year's team, most of the players, have fought pretty hard, the first round was a lot of fun and impressive. But as I said, for Sixers fans, it's been a pretty tedious 13 years.

Jared McCain had 18 points tonight in 18 minutes for the defending NBA Champs… He was 7/11 from the field, 4/5 from deep & had only 1 turnover. I will always root for him but can’t help but feel absolutely crushed every time he has a great game. Dammit.

I have had my appendix removed by laparoscopy. Assume it did not rupture (which greatly increases the danger, and the recovery timeline) it is a relatively small incision below the belly button and you mostly just have to make sure the stitches do no reopen. He very well MAY be back in 2 weeks.

Embiid update Embiid was discharged from the hospital today following a successful appendectomy and is returning to Philadelphia. Embiid’s surgical recovery will be managed by team physicians in consultation with his surgeon. A timeline for return to basketball activities has not yet been determined.
