Today is #WorldCancerResearchDay History teaches us that what begins as a “crazy idea” often becomes tomorrow’s breakthrough. But daring to question entrenched dogmas, stepping outside the comfort zone, and swimming upstream against the cancer establishment has a cost. For years I devoted myself to the Lactagenesis Hypothesis. I was laughed at, cancelled and dismissed. And yet, nearly 800 citations later, this hypothesis has become a reference point, inspiring new ways of understanding cancer metabolism and opening doors to novel therapeutics. Even more importantly, we and others are beginning to prove it. And still… today, on #WorldCancerResearchDay, I face the paradox: no funding, my lab and team dismantled, and the dream of continuing this line of research shattered. Once again, money speaks louder than ideas. This year the pain is even deeper as I lost my father to cancer just a month ago. The fight against this disease is no longer just professional, it is profoundly personal. But ideas do not die. Truth has a way of surfacing, no matter how long it takes. If this work has shown anything, it is that conviction, perseverance, and the courage to think differently can move science forward. May this day remind us all: innovation is not born from consensus, but from those willing to be ridiculed until they are right.

Load models are infinitely worse than daily readiness models for determining when to back off. Training load is just one 'signal' akin to tweaking the rabbit ears on your black and white TV. Squint and you might get a picture With readiness you get the full color 8k experience!
