Messi isnt the goat in my opinion because results and challenges matter more than god givent talent and skill Messi played in the same system for 20 years since he was 13. He played with 2 of the best midfielders of all time for 20 years designed specifically around him When he left to go to PSG, he had 6 league goals in the entire year and got bounced out of the champions league even though he had mbappe and neymar with him He routinely chokes in big games (besides qatar 2022). Most goals, most international goals, most ucl goals, most ucl assists, more ucls than messi, more goals vs top 10 teams, by far the best big game player of all time. Better at every facet of the game besides dribbling (although united ronaldo was right up there) and passing. Better with both feet, better shooting, better in the air, better at penalties, faster, stronger, more powerful, played multiple positions Played and won Ballon D Or playing multiple positions in multiple leagues.
