To traders starting from zero (trenched). In 2026
This is not motivation.
This is not a sales pitch.
This is the truth most people are too ashamed to say out loud.
If you’re starting from zero, you’re not just broke you’re wounded.
You’re trading with rent pressure.
Trading with family expectations.
Trading with friends who think you’re lazy.
Trading with screenshots on social media screaming “I flipped $200 to $20k” while your account can’t even survive spread.
You don’t wake up excited.
You wake up anxious.
Heart racing before London session.
Already tired before the market opens.
Let me say this clearly:
Most traders don’t quit because they’re stupid.
They quit because poverty plus hope is a brutal combination.
When you’re trenched, every loss feels personal.
Not “strategy failed” it feels like you failed.
Like life is mocking you again.
You revenge trade not because you’re greedy,
but because you’re desperate to breathe.
You over-leverage not because you don’t know risk management,
but because slow growth feels like death when bills are loud.
You don’t trust your setups
because deep down, you don’t trust anything anymore.
And the worst part?
You start lying.
You lie to people:
“I’m good, trading is fine.”
You lie online:
Posting charts you didn’t take.
You lie to yourself:
“Next trade will change everything.”
But here’s the part nobody warns you about:
The market does not care that you are at your lowest.
It will punish impatience the same way it punishes arrogance.
Starting from zero is not romantic.
It is humiliating.
It is lonely.
It strips your ego layer by layer until all that’s left is your discipline or your excuses.
Some days you’ll stare at the chart and feel nothing.
No excitement. No fear. Just emptiness.
Other days you’ll feel rage.
Rage at mentors.
Rage at the market.
Rage at yourself for “starting late.”
You’ll ask God questions you don’t even want answers to.
And listen carefully:
If you survive this phase, you will never trade the same again.
Because trenches teach lessons YouTube never will.
You learn that:
- Small wins are not “useless” they’re oxygen.
- Preservation is more important than prediction.
- Missing a trade hurts less than blowing an account.
- Consistency is boring and boring is profitable.
You learn that real confidence doesn’t come from winning streaks,
it comes from knowing you won’t self-destruct after a loss.
You stop chasing markets.
You stop chasing gurus.
You stop chasing validation.
And one day quietly without announcement
you realize you’re no longer emotional over every candle.
That’s when you’re dangerous.
Not rich.
Not famous.
Just stable.
So if you’re starting from zero, trenched, tired, embarrassed, doubting yourself…
You’re not behind.
You’re being forged.
Just don’t rush the fire.
Don’t trade like the market owes you healing.
It doesn’t.
Survive first.
Grow later.
And if nobody has told you this yet
I’m proud of you for still showing up.
Most people quit in silence.
