A proposal for the Lido DAO to temporarily lower the threshold for first-loss coverage protection for the EarnETH vault is live on the Lido Research Forum. research.lido.fi/t/authorise-lo… In its current state, Lido EarnETH protection is only triggered when vault losses exceed 1% of vault holdings. Lido Contributors anticipate that losses may be less than 1% of holdings, if rsETH shortfalls are settled through DeFi United. In the interest of making EarnETH users whole, the proposal suggests a one-time lower limit for EarnETH users.

If consolidations costs you 6-7 figures of investment, and staying on 32s costs you percentage points on 4-5 figures, you guys are shooting yourselves in the foot with this messaging.
It’s disappointing because >1 year in, you can now explain the problems, but I think mustn’t understand them if you’re putting forward the wrong solutions.
Companies won’t invest in a market you’re deliberately killing.

On April 18, LayerZero's hosted infrastructure was exploited to forge a cross-chain message, draining 116,500 rsETH from the bridging adapter. Our core onchain and offchain infrastructure was not affected.
As an interim security measure while we investigate a more secure cross-chain infrastructure, Kelp completed a full hardening pass across its current bridging infrastructure to prevent similar attacks. As of April 29, that work is done.

I can't believe this is even a serious conversation.
If ETH can't sustain 0.8% inflation, the problem is not issuance its demand. 100% aligned with Marc on this one.

Current ETH inflation is 0.8% per annum. If you are ready to disturb a whole industry, have investors mark you down in the "unpredictable" category because the product you build doesn't have enough organic demand to sustain a <1% inflation. Maybe the issue is with the product's demand, and no amount of tweaks and belly dancing on the infra will steer the boat.

I will be making a personal donation of 100 ETH to the relief effort coordinated by @aave Labs in relation to the KelpDAO's/LZ exploit.
While I'm not involved with Aave anymore, I still believe the Aave protocol is important for DeFi overall. And the coordination effort led by @aave Labs without Aave itself being the exploited system, deserves support
