🧪 Want to learn more about our study sites? Here’s a short video from: Aiguamolls de l’Empordà, a key wetland ecosystem in NE Spain. Its environmental diversity makes it ideal for studying mosquito behaviour across habitats.

⚠️Early warning systems (EWS) are essential to anticipate outbreaks of mosquito-borne diseases. To achieve this, we focus on: 🌡️ Climate forecasting 🧫 Mosquito surveillance data 📊 Disease risk models We aim to support evidence-based decision-making to prevent outbreaks.

➡️Dengue, chikungunya, malaria: once considered “tropical,” these vector-borne diseases are now locally transmitted in Europe. 💡With #E4WARNING, we aim to study and develop tools to better anticipate mosquito-borne disease outbreaks.

🤝 We team up with @MosquitsEmporda to monitor mosquito populations. 🎯 Our goal is to reconstruct how viruses might circulate by analyzing mosquito and bird species, helping to assess the potential risk of spread.

🦟 Desde 2023, el mosquito tigre ha sido detectado en 156 municipios españoles gracias a la aplicación Mosquito Alert y la colaboración ciudadana. Su nuevo sistema con IA ya está activo para detectar mosquitos invasores en tiempo real.
