So excited to meet our newest members in the Ob/Gyn family this week! Now matter how you came to us--straight from med school, IMG applicants, re-applicants, or change in field--we are excited to have you! 🥰

One of my amazing PGY1’s just said, “I’m the only intern to ever have dropped a cord.” #obgyntwitter please drop a like or a comment if you have ever unintentionally had a cord prolapse so I can show her she is not alone!

Has anyone else developed the bad habit of looking at the ED list to look for potential consults? 👀

I am all for patients having whatever they need in their delivery room to make them feel at ease. However, I would be remiss if I didn't say that my favorite thing by far was when a patient played *only* Taylor Swift and pushed to the "Lover" album. Icon.

*I do care how much pain my patients are in, but it’s not an excuse for hypertension!

So when do we as a medical community finally all get on the same page that pain/anxiety/etc is not an excuse for high blood pressure? Like it doesn’t matter how much pain you’re in, it shouldn’t be that high!

I think we should have a #gynfluencer thread for the most common myths in OB/GYN. Add yours below! My MFM colleague has requested that I inform everyone that mucus plugs do not hold pregnancies in.

If anyone still thinks COVID is not a problem, go into a hospital. I've seen so many pregnant patients who are extremely ill be admitted to the hospital, more with each day. Our ICUs are filled up, and there are waiting lists for people who are incredibly sick. This is real.

We need to talk more about how inductions happen with our patients before they come to L&D. I feel that many more patients will have better experiences with Foley bulbs if we prepare them ahead of time

Starting next week, I have 7 straight weeks of L&D followed by 4 weeks of L&D nights. Pray for me and my former life of restful sleep 🙏

@jfitzgeraldMD On a gen surg rotation, I told a fellow and acting intern that I was deciding between gen surg and obgyn and instead of saying why to choose gen surg they both just said horrible things about surgical experience in obgyn. I was super shocked especially coming from the MS4

It’s almost 2022 so here’s your periodic reminder that if a med student tells you they’re interested in Ob/Gyn and you make a disparaging comment or joke in response, you’ve just announced your sexism to the room.

Sometimes when I'm feeling like not good at being a resident, I think about how I literally had no clue how to deliver a baby less than half a year ago and now I'm starting to feel like a pro 💪 Think about how far you've come by now. You will get to where you need to be in time.

Hey remember when HPV vaccine was the “controversial” one that the antivax movement swore didn’t work? They were wrong about that one too. Just throwing this out there, maybe they just hate vaccines and don’t care about the science. bbc.com/news/health-59…
