Scottish Rugby is immensely saddened to learn of the death earlier today of former Scotland and British & Irish Lions centre, Scott Hastings. He was 61.

Extra caveat: IF Hearts are planning to protest the result over the final whistle question, then it is logically consistent for them not to congratulate Celtic now, and to wait for that to play out. BUT they have not given an indication of protesting the result itself so far?

Blimey! Not sure I've seen anything like this before from a majority shareholder against a recently-departed manager?! Think it goes far beyond the love-hate dynamic Anthony Kleanthous and Martin Allen seemed to have over many years at Barnet!

Yeah, absolutely bizarre for McGregor to say that. At no point did anyone say that Celtic had no chance - in fact everyone was suspicious that they would find some way of winning the title

A v good thread. With any teams I support abroad, I'm much less clued in to the fanbase than I am with my English team. Am glad I'm not the only one who was sceptical about Chivu, pleasantly surprised at the title + thankful to the 2017-18 qual for UCL!

So tonight Inter might (should) win their 21st scudetto and as far as I'm concerned it's probably the least expected trophy of my life as an Inter fan. I expected Antonio Conte to win it sooner or later. I expected Simone Inzaghi to win it sooner or later. I expected Mancini/Mourinho to win it. What really stands out is that it's done with the same base of players that ran into a brick wall last season aiming for a treble, finishing with "nothing". It's also done with a manager that had 13 (!) Serie A games at Parma, fighting for survival, on his CV, before taking Inter, a giant. I'm not going to lie, when Chivu took over, I was skeptical, and I consider myself in the top 1% of optimistic Inter fans, sometimes too optimistic, but yeah, nobody could make sense of the choice at the time, which is an incredible hat's off to the Inter board. Chivu himself. And the group of players, whom I sincerely never doubted, even though they lost what they lost.

Err...when I said that Cristian Chivu was inexperienced in senior football management and risked becoming our next Stramaccione, what I really meant to say was that he had exactly the right credentials and I didn't doubt him at all! Inter: Scudetto champions 2025-26!

Hmm. Not sure about this one. A great player but relatively untried in senior football management. Can see it fits with the prioritisation of youth. Fear it will be Andrea Stramaccione Mk 2; the odd great win (Juventus (A), Spurs (H)) amidst mediocrity. x.com/FabrizioRomano…

For a while I did think the record would never end but 2002 no longer the last Crucible Final to go to a decider! But, equally, the match was so fluid! It was done by about 10.30pm? 1985 Final decider and the famous near-1am finish it wasn't!

Also, we have now had 4 out of the last 8 Best of 33 Crucible semi-finals go the distance (since 2019). Yet the last Best of 35 Crucible final to do so was 2002. True, I dunno the long-term trend. True, there are 2 semi-finals but only 1 final. But still intriguing! #Snooker

Not perfect but I thought there was some high quality break-building under pressure at the end of that Final!
Wu Yize a deserving world champion, prob the best player of the fortnight. Equally, Shaun Murphy would've been deserving too, never gave in and came so close (again).
