What happens if a condo resident causes unexpected expenses for the condo? The condo corporation is entitled under some special circumstances to charge to the unit  owner’s common expenses. These chargebacks ensure that the costs of repairing any damages caused by a resident don’t fall on the entire community. There are five chargebacks explicitly allowed by the Condo Act and more that may be allowed under your condo’s governing documents.
