@aliceleung YES! Designing learning is best done collaboratively. The resources are there as just that: they’re resources. There’s an art to differentiating, scaffolding & sequencing the learning to address the social, well/being & academic needs of ALL Ss. Plan hard, teach easy! #aussieEd

Teachers need MORE TIME to collaboratively design resources and learning experiences, which may be adapted from existing, published resources. However, just simply having a repository of resources is not enough. The planning time needs to come with it. smh.com.au/national/nsw/t…

Having a great day working on all things data for EAL/D school planning. Especially love being able to get together to focus on the process and ‘brain dump’ on paper with my incredible colleagues @ealdcaitlin @TESOLoz @michael_cleary3 @SDurney

The primary concern is 2 rebuild relationships.Don't concern yourself too much w/ 'the lost learning' bec EVERYONE learnt an enormous amount during the l/down...about each other, ourselves. All you need is 'a teaspoon of light'. How r u going 2 'spread' this in ur c/rm? #PETAA2021

Children’s sense of identity starts very young & race and culture plays a large part in shaping that identity. If the books they are exposed to shows their background and experience, it improves social & emotional outcomes #PETAA2021

EAL/D effective school practices might be reliant on individual teachers. We need distributed leadership to make this sustainable. We have a shared responsible for EAL/D education. #PETAA2021

Incredibly moving keynote from Stan Grant. Raising the issue of invisibility that Aboriginal students still face in education. Do we as teachers know enough about history to really know our students? #PETAA2021
