12/12 𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 Unlike the anti-energy NDP-Liberals, Conservatives 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 we can to 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 Canadian workers in 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 across the country. The key is transformation, not transition Conservatives will fight to make life more 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 and will bring home both traditional and renewable energy jobs to expand oil and gas, renewable, and future fuel development in Canada. Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives will 𝗰𝘂𝘁 the carbon taxes and 𝗰𝘂𝘁 permitting timelines to 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 and 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 traditional energy development and exports to help 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 through private sector investment and innovation – technology, not taxes. #cdnpoli #cpc #Pierre4PM

11/12 𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 At Committee, Conservatives want to put first things first, and deal with these crucial bills that will have significant and wide ranging impacts across Canada. The truth is the NDP-Liberals have done nothing since the Supreme Court ruled “𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹" on their cornerstone law, the never-build anything anywhere Bill C 69, which 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 or called for 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀, but both the NDP - Liberals have ignored them all and supported this unconstitutional law for half a decade. Of course the NDP-Liberals want to deflect those facts now, and of course they want to talk about anything else. But just like C-69, the last minute, 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝘅 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗺 from last Friday 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘄 𝗮 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 in all their arguments about it. After 8 years it’s clear; all Canadians and Conservatives 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗲 to trust them this time. It’s clear that the NDP-Liberals are 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 and 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁.

10/12 𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 Instead of collaboration with Conservatives on Committee, the collusion of the anti-private sector, anti-energy, anti-development, anti-free speech, pro-censorship NDP-Liberals is to do everything they can to 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿 and 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻, and to 𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 the Committee’s schedule to 𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 their “Just Transition” as quickly as possible, and are making the provinces and people of 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗮 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗮 and 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 & 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿 have to 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 for the new scope and mandates for new regulators of Atlantic Offshore oil and renewable development. 🚨  On that note, NDP-Liberal supporters and voters should ask the MPs of those parties why THEY support a bill that will cause even more 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘆 and 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆, and 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗣𝗟𝗘 the potential regulatory timeline for 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 compared to offshore oil, which already has been killed by the anti-energy NDP-Liberals. They say over and over they want to end oil and gas in Canada, they want to phase it out, they want to shut it down – they do. All their policies and laws show it.

9/12 𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 ✅ 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸: Bill C -49: Introduction and First reading - May 30th, 2023 Time Allocation Vote - October 16th, 2023 (only 8.5 hours of debate over two partial sitting days in the HoC) Passed Second Reading - October 17th, 2023   Bill C-50: Introduction and First reading - June 15th, 2023 Time Allocation Vote - October 19th, 2023 (7.5 hours of debate over 2 days) Passed Second Reading - October 23rd, 2023  Clearly, what I and Conservatives argue in Committee is actually to follow the very order that the NDP-Liberals themselves imposed in the House of Commons, over which they have complete control. They have to answer why they are not using 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 to 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 the order of their own bills and 𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 to the Committee. Both the Atlantic offshore Bill C-49 and the Just Transition C-50 are extremely crucial to Canadians and workers in every community.

8/12 𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 The Liberals, backed by the NDP, want to 𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 every timeline and aspect of the Committee’s scheduling for these bills in the Natural Resources Committee, which will rightfully take precedence over any other ongoing or future planned work of the Committee. Contrary to their claims otherwise, the Liberals and the NDP haven’t actually collaborated or worked in good faith with Conservatives before they brought forward the scheduling programming motion at the beginning of the meeting on Monday, October 30th.

7/12 𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 Someone should ask them why they want to rush it through. I do know why: it’s because polling shows most Canadians generally don’t know what the “Just Transition” is, but when they find out, they don’t like it, which is why the NDP-Liberals re-named it at the last minute, even though neither they (nor any witness except one previously) 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁 what they now call it. They are trying to 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗹 Canadians about what they are actually doing here and that’s why they 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘁 through, but as the Official Opposition, Conservatives must insist on ample deliberation on this bill.  As we’ve done for 8 years, Conservatives still 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 the NDP-Liberals 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 agenda to 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 the jobs and 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀 of millions of Canadians, and the 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 and 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 of living in 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 across the country.

6/12 𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 The truth is the NDP-Liberal costly coalition wants to 𝗿𝗮𝗺 it all through 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 the very people it impacts most - or from representatives of all the sectors it will damage - which they already know. Those include: obviously energy, and importantly, also: manufacturing, agriculture, transportation, and construction. Through the Just Transition Bill C-50 and from 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 the NDP-Liberals aim to 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻, to 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 Canada’s economy, to 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲 wealth, and to 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 the jobs and sectors they’ve long wanted to 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻. The NDP-Liberals’ own internal briefings show the consequence of Bill C-50 will be to kill 170,000 oil and gas jobs immediately, disrupt the livelihoods of 2.7 million Canadians, and damage every sector. What do they say to those workers and those union members whose jobs their Just Transition Bill C-50 will kill?

5/12 𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 The Just Transition Bill C-50 actually embodies the 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 8 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶-development 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮. Make no mistake: it will make 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 for all Canadians, will 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 of the economy, and will 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘁 communities in certain provinces, and especially economic opportunities for 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 people and Canadians in 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 regions.

4/12 𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 The Just Transition Bill C-50 is 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 and 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀. Bill  C-50 must come through the Committee second and the 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱. Which is why Conservatives can’t agree to the NDP-Liberals' attempt to 𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 the schedule to Committee.  C-50 is the “Just Transition”; it is not a good faith altruistic skills and jobs training program by government like the NDP-Liberals claim.

3/12 𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 As the Official Opposition, Conservatives in Natural Resources Committee bring forward 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 suggestions, amendments, and motions, and do our 𝗱𝘂𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 for our constituents and for all Canadians.  It is critical that the Natural Resources Committee hears from 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱. As I said in Committee on Monday, 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗖-69 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁. The NDP-Liberals failed to fix Bill C-69 to date in response to the Supreme Court decision that it is “𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹". Unconstitutional sections of C-69 are in C-49 as it’s written 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄.  Obviously, that is a major challenge to properly assess C-49 now, but it’s not Conservative who can do what the NDP-Liberals must, and Conservatives can’t answer for their 𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 to fix C-69 and it’s related impact on C-49, which they don’t seem to be concerned about either. The NDP-Liberals claim they want to 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 the Atlantic Offshore Bill C-49,  and accuse Conservatives regularly of the opposite, but this week in Committee – in public - 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗗𝗣- 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 C-49 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 C-50.

2/12 𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 Instead of collaboration on the schedule of these important bills through Committee, as the NDP-Liberals claim, those MPs spent at least 10 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 in Committee this week 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿 and 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 and 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 Conservative members, all who have a 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 to be at any Committees, just like any other Member of Parliament. This is all in public.

1/ 12 𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 👉👈 As usual, the NDP-Liberals point fingers and blame others. In fact, the NDP-Liberals forced the Atlantic Offshore Bill C-49 and the Just Transition Bill C-50 through the House of Commons in the very order that Conservatives propose MPs examine them at Natural Resources Committee. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗗𝗣-𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀. The NDP-Liberals forced both bills through the House of Commons with 𝗳𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 9 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵, when they 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 second reading 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼.

As the victims start to piece their lives together they are joined by the amazing teams of volunteers that continue to work so hard to clean up after the storm. To all of the citizens that have pulled together, I thank you. These acts of kindness are never forgotten.
