What exactly happened here? Overnight shipping order made on Tuesday afternoon 10am Wed email saying delayed 4pm email saying it shipped 7pm email saying delayed Overnight means it is just coming from the local warehouse. So did the driver screw up?

@VicVijayakumar But you also need to run all the numbers. Estimated appreciation, primary residence capital gains exclusion from a sale (you have a 3 year window from when you moved), estimated rent/vacancy/maintenance, etc.

@VicVijayakumar I think it partially depends on where it is located. We bought a new place 3 years ago. Kept the old one (2.5% rate w/8 years left) and are renting it out. Both in downtown Cary (hard to come by). We may move back after kids are out of the house.

Okay what would you do? We moved from our “starter home” (2.25% 20-yr fixed) to our “forever home” (6.5% fml). We’ve finally cleaned out the old house and have people in there painting / grouting / fixing holes. Still torn on whether we should sell it or rent it out. I’d love to sell it, take the cash, pay down the new mortgage. But people keep telling me it would be foolish to get rid of a hard asset with that low of a mortgage rate.

I hate systems that do this. It feels like the lazy approach to handling surges in loads and DB transactions. Cary is not small, but it's not massive. ~180,000 people live here. The camps being registered for will have probably 10-100 kids each.

I respect people using AI as a tool, but I have no respect for people who let blatantly AI-sounding text represent them - whether it’s blog posts, video scripts, applying for work, or pitching to be a podcast guest. These things are supposed to reflect you as an individual, so sounding like a robot means you have no credibility. AI-speak is getting harder to avoid, but at least it makes the genuine people easy to spot.

How do people not understand that there’s no actual data here? You had an LLM create a video based on other videos it’s been trained on. What you don’t have here is any geometry, systems, models, animations, shaders… in short: You really got nothing. But for some reason the technically inept think that we’re close to this becoming a fully interactive thing that makes sense and is fun to play. Good Luck with that!

This is absolutely insane 🫠 People are yearning for a LOTR game like this. We’ve somehow normalized waiting 2 years for 6 episodes of a TV show and a decade for a game sequel. Imagine getting a new GTA game every year. AI will replace the bottlenecks, not human direction.

What do you think? For me I think the biggest issue is how hard it is for AI to manipulate content in the site editor. The AI tools coming to 7.0 are critical, but it feels like half the picture when AI struggles with handling basic design implementations.
