No breakthrough in Miami talks, Kremlin says Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that talks between Russia and the United States in Miami should not be viewed as a breakthrough. According to him, Russia’s main priority now is to obtain details of U.S. talks with European countries and Ukraine and to assess whether they align with the “spirit of Anchorage.” He was referring to the meeting between Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump held in Alaska in August.

Україна подала запит на екстрадицію російського археолога Алєксандра Бутягіна, який проводив незаконні розкопки в тимчасово окупованому Криму. Бутягіна затримали 11 грудня у готелі Варшави. Прокуратура Польщі передасть своє та українське клопотання до суду. Видання RMF повідомляє, що правоохоронці також направлять клопотання про продовження тимчасового арешту, який закінчується 13 січня. Остаточне рішення про екстрадицію належить суду.
