Today a few of our members marched alongside @BelfastUar at the first ever Ballymena Pride. Events over the last month showed the worst of Ballymena. Today we seen the best. Thousands of people marching. And thousands more cheering in support! Today was the real Ballymena

Activists braved the rain this evening in Short Strand to spread the word about our housing meeting tomorrow night! Passing the old Sirocco works, earmarked for development for 15 years & still empty - it's starker than ever how we need more homes built now in our communities!

With the ongoing housing crisis morphing into a housing catastrophe, East and South Belfast branches braved the cold this morning to drop banners around the city, highlighting some of our demands!

It was great to see the starling murmuration in East Belfast this evening. A couple of years ago this spectacle had stopped because of light pollution and thanks to campaigning from @WildBelfast changes were made and the birds have returned in their thousands!

In 2024 1,403 social housing units were completed across the whole of the north. Meanwhile 8,250 households presented as homeless in just 6 months. Decades of neoliberal ‘solutions’ have done nothing but exacerbate the situation. Drastic radical action is required now!

Across East Belfast homes and buildings lie empty, while thousands of our neighbours remain on waiting lists. We need homes now and repurposing these buildings is just one solution we propose in our housing bill! Do you have a derelict property near you? Send us a DM!
