"Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment, until it becomes a memory."

I finished the remaining four episodes of BBO #BizeBişeyOlmaz and I’m not going to soften this: the show is a complete flop. I don’t recommend it - at all. What makes it worse is how misleading it is. I went in expecting a story about Aktan and Lal, and more specifically, I was sold a project that positioned #MertRamazanDemir as a central protagonist. As a fan, that’s exactly why I tuned in - I came to watch it for him. Instead, what I got was Lal’s story, with Aktan reduced to a decorative side character whose only purpose is to push her emotional arc forward. For anyone who came in for him, it honestly feels like a bait-and-switch. And then there’s the acting!!! I gave the benefit of the doubt at first because I didn’t know #MirayDaner and thought this might be a chance to discover a new “talent” - That didn’t happen. The performance is flat, overly self-conscious, and focused more on looking “cute” than actually embodying a character. It’s a constant parade of tears and poses with no emotional weight behind it. There’s no depth, no nuance - just surface-level dramatics dressed up as intensity. But the biggest issue - the one that makes this whole project feel almost embarrassing - is the blatant lack of originality. This isn’t “inspired by.” I honestly wish they had the audacity to come out and admit that this story is inspired by “SeyFer” - the one and only. At least that would show some level of honesty. Instead, what we get is copy-paste storytelling. Scenes, framing, dialogue, color schemes, wardrobe - everything feels lifted and reassembled without adding anything new. At times, it’s so obvious it becomes distracting. Instead of building its own identity, the show leans entirely on something that already exists, and does it worse. And that’s the thing - even with all its flaws, even with all the criticism I had for it in the third season, #YalıÇapkını and #SeyFer still stand miles ahead because they are original. They have an identity, a soul, and a depth that this show never even attempts to reach. If someone is looking for a story with real emotion, complexity, and substance, then the answer is simple: go back to the original. Nothing about this imitation justifies its existence. What makes it even more questionable is how far this imitation goes. It doesn’t stop at fictional parallels - it starts echoing elements associated with the real-life dynamics tied to real life couple/protagonist partners of that original work. At that point, it stops being creative borrowing and starts feeling calculated and opportunistic. And that brings me to something that can’t be ignored: from the very beginning—when the project was first being introduced to the public and details about the cast started circulating in the media - there was that striking newspaper headline making the rounds: “Afra out, Miray in.” At the time, it might have sounded like typical promotional noise or speculation. But after actually watching the show, it’s hard not to look back at that moment differently. Now, it feels less like a coincidence and more like a clear signal of intent. Watching the show now, the whole thing comes across as an attempt to ride on the popularity and emotional investment of an already established pairing, only to replace one side of it and push another actress into the spotlight. The male lead - who already carried that legacy - is stripped down to almost nothing here, while everything is reshaped to center her. It doesn’t feel organic; it feels engineered. On top of that, the show pretends to be deep by throwing around themes like trauma, psychological struggle, and feminism - but it never actually explores them. These ideas are used as decoration, not substance. Big lines, heavy words, dramatic delivery - but nothing underneath. It’s shallow, performative, and at times even insulting in how it tries to pass itself off as meaningful. Wasted potential, and in the end - nothing worth remembering.
