The person on the left saw the other guy walking in the cold and rain without sufficient outerwear and pulled over. He had a few jackets and backpacks with clothes in the trunk which they sorted through for size and gave to him.

Godzilla Minus One is terrific. See it as soon as possible. What a surprise. Loved it. Wonderfully simple and incredibly effective character based storytelling. One of the best movies of the year.
